Restorative Practices in High School

As a principal and a consultant with EPIC School Partnerships, Carmen has supported universal learning environments capable of supporting restorative practices and ensuring success for all students. Carmen's presentation will highlight her work as a principal in a large comprehensive high school in Oregon as well as her recent work with Valley High School in the Santa Ana Unified School District. She will focus on (a) the key characteristics of an effective universal approach; (b) how to incorporate student voice, family, and community stakeholders in designing a shared, universal language; and (c) how effective restorative practices build off a high quality universal approach.
